Explore qualifications and learning opportunities relevant to retrofit
The Qualifications & Training Map brings together retrofit qualifications and related learning opportunities. It helps learners and employers explore options for developing skills.
Cara Jenkinson of Ashen and Pippa Palmer of Polln developed the map while co-chairing NRH’s Workforce Growth & Skills Development Working Group. Tercia Da Silva Jansen van Vuuren, a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, supported the work alongside the group’s participants.
What does the map include?
The resource covers qualifications specifically focused on retrofit. It also includes construction qualifications that can provide a foundation for further learning.
A separate tab brings together informal learning opportunities for people who want to build their understanding of particular topics.
How to use the map

Frequently asked questions
Does the map list retrofit training providers?
The Qualifications tab lists qualifications and their accrediting bodies rather than individual training providers. The Masterclasses & Webinars tab includes providers of informal learning opportunities.
Are all the qualifications specific to retrofit?
No. The map also includes construction qualifications that can provide a foundation for further retrofit learning.
Does completing a webinar give me a retrofit qualification?
Do not assume that an informal learning session leads to a qualification. Check with the organiser whether it offers a recognised qualification or another form of learning recognition.
Does NRH endorse the qualifications and courses listed?
No. The map brings information together to support research and learning decisions. Inclusion does not constitute NRH endorsement.
How can I check whether an opportunity is still available?
